The campaign will be run by Emirates Team New Zealand, undoubtedly one of the most prestigious professional sailing teams in the world. The yacht will be called Camper and will carry the burgees of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

The history and the authenticity of the race, the human adventure, the effort, the desire to improve and the teamwork fully fit the Camper values. Competing in this race motivates Camper to continue innovating and strengthening its presence around the world.

The managing director of the Emirates Team New Zealand team, Grant Dalton, a former winner of this event, brings with him not only a wealth of experience, but a very charismatic and highly competitive team of sailors. 

The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race will be the 11th edition of the event. The first 31,250 nautical-mile race first took place over 37 years ago (as the Whitbread Round the World Race 1973-74), testing the crews against some of the most ferocious elements that man can encounter. The next race starts in Alicante, Spain, in late 2011 and will finish at Galway, Ireland, in mid 2012, with stopovers in Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Sanya (China), Auckland (New Zealand), Itajai (Brazil), Miami (USA), Lisbon (Portugal) and Lorient (France).

ErenlerBauer is a conceptual architecture practice, which has the aim to create a clear vision from the architectural concept to the final result. We accomplish this by furthering our ambition of functional aesthetics by meeting our clients’ needs. Our practice incorporates architectural concepts, planning and production. ErenlerBauer’s experience in finding locations and usage for clients’ requirements, as well as developing existing spaces gives us an advantage in seeing potential in raw and undefined environments. In staying true to our designs, constant in our ideas and working closely with our clients, ErenlerBauer has had the fortune of being able to work on a varied number of projects. Eight students from the most prestigious European schools had the opportunity to not only attend technique and artistic conferences where speakers were authorities in the creative process, anatomy, materials and sustainable projects, but also to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Son Fortesa.

The result of the students work, ten shoe prototypes and a publication also available online presented on the closing of the workshop, are a proof of the creativity and talent of these young designers. If you want to know more about this workshop, you can check this blog.

Camper sponsors the “Night for Photgraphy” which will be celebrated on June 19th. The photography will be the star of the night where the squares of “Barrio de las Letras” will be full of pictures, music, DJs and live shows.

“Camper Tours”, Camper and PhotoEspaña join to offer their visitors guided tours, this allows them to enjoy the festival in a dynamic and personalized way. The guided tours, which are free of charge, will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between the 5th and 28th of June, where specialist guides will accompany visitors. All you need to do in order to participate, is to arrive 15 minutes before the visit begins.

“Family workshops” are new to this years festival, Camper and PhotoEspaña organize photography workshops during the four Sundays of June. All the family are invited, regardless of age, to visit the exhibitions and perform activities together and put this newly acquired knowledge into practice. After a first shop in Paris, St-Germain-des-Prés, in 1992, and now 4 shops in the French capital, Camper opens for the first time another shop in France, in one of
the most famous places of the French Riviera: Cannes, 43, Antibes’ Street.

A new space with the colours of the Spanish brand: White for walls and lamps, red for another wall, the counter, and the central bench … The new Spring-Summer 2009 collection will be displayed in the white lacquered and Comer wood displays and in the window on music stands.

During the Festival de Cannes (May, 13-24 ) Camper will also go to the “Plage Majestic 62”. All the staff in this temporary VIP place, will wear the shoes designed by Jaime Hayon for Camper To&ether special project, and tee-shirts with both, Plage Majestic and Camper logos.

A special window, displaying Hayon shoes will be set up at the 43, rue d’Antibes during the whole 62e Festival de Cannes.
